Murals for Tipsy Putt on Bay Street in Emeryville, CA
Mural 1 of 2 for Tipsy Putt Emeryville Featuring the city of Emeryville
Flatstick Pub, an indoor mini golf course and pub, requested a mural to welcome patrons of their new South Lake Tahoe location. The artwork spans 2 adjacent 11 foot walls in the large pub, printed on vinyl wallpaper & installed for Flatstick’s soft opening in June of 2021.
The mural contains dozens of vignettes of items that pertain to themes of golf and the location in Tahoe. Outdoor activities, Beer, golf slang & puns form the 2 pieces, which combine to form a wall of art that is almost scrapbook-like to enjoy as a backdrop for all your putt putt games at Flatstick Pub.
While I designed the mural, it wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for a hard-working crew of painters and muralists working with Sacramento local Maren Conrad. This insanely tedious design took the artists (with a little bit of help from yours truly) over a week of work.
The Foundry is a living space located in The Bridge District, West Sacramento. I was commissioned to create a piece that showed the span of the Bridge District and its diverse population, attractions & activities. The client worked with me to incorporate references to current and historical people and landmarks iconic of the area. There are a lot of cheeky references in the piece; characters include a local baseball mascot, the city mayor, art pieces from the area, and even Charles & Ray Eames.
I created the original artwork and was lucky enough to have Jeremy Stanger (@stangerprojects) and Ryan Stark (@leaveswell) join on the project to help paint the final art. The artwork is in the lobby of The Foundry, which can be seen from the street while driving or strolling through the neighborhood.
